UNIT9 x BBH | Nike Air Projection Stunt

As Executive Producer at UNIT9, I led the production and technical delivery of Nike’s ‘Win on Air’ projection stunt in Singapore— a bold fusion of CG animation, live event choreography, and immersive architecture.

At the core of the experience were hyper-realistic CG recreations of three of Nike’s global iconsSha’Carri Richardson, Kylian Mbappé, and Victor Wembanyama. Our animation team worked with approved photography and motion capture data to reconstruct each athlete’s signature moments. These were captured using Move.AI’s innovative camera tracking technology and body doubles in a London studio, giving us unprecedented flexibility in replicating dynamic performances with nuance and impact.

Simultaneously, I oversaw on-the-ground production in Singapore. We conducted an extensive study of the Nike Orchard Road flagship store, transforming its 20-metre-high glass façade into a projection canvas. This was complemented by two 10-metre hologauze screens on adjacent balconies — enabling our CG athletes to leap across surfaces in seamless, kinetic choreography.

To achieve the technical complexity of the projection, we collaborated with the Hilton hotel directly opposite the store, taking over an entire floor to install 24 projectors — the invisible engine powering the spectacle.

The stunt was timed to coincide with the finish line of a Nike 10K night run, where runners arrived to find the store suddenly “shut down.” We orchestrated a dramatic light and sound show, complete with glitching effects and the pulsing disappearance of the Nike logo. As the storefront went dark, the athletes burst into life — animated projections scaling glass and hologauze with striking realism and energy.

This was a landmark production that combined athletic storytelling, cutting-edge tech, and urban spectacle — celebrating movement, momentum, and Nike’s bold brand spirit.
